MFB Invest is a 100% subsidiary of the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB). The company provides development capital to Hungarian companies, as growth-phase small and medium-sized enterprises being its primary investment targets. MFB Invest also takes an active role in equity financing of greenfield projects. MFB Invest was established in 2006 with the purpose of providing development and venture capital on the Hungarian capital market, covering a wide range of sectors such as machinery, manufacturing, energy, health care, services and technology. MFB Invest focuses its investments on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in an established phase of their life cycles with growth potential (preferably with capex plans). The Company also participates in greenfield projects. MFB Invest prefers minority ownership with at least HUF 500 million capital need and usually exits after 4 to 7 years following the initial capital injection. With its extensive professional experience and financial expertise MFB Invest continuously supports its portfolio investment companies. MFB Invest is the 100% owner of Hiventures (www.hiventures.hu), a venture capital fund management company dedicated to early stage (pre-seed, seed, start-up) equity investments in domestic, innovative companies. MFB Invest is a member of the European Venture Fund Investors Network.
