The Ministry of Finance and Budget is responsible for the preparation and execution of finance laws, the management of the State’s treasury, the drafting and implementation of tax and customs legislation and regulations, and the representation of the State before the Supreme Court and other courts and tribunals. The Ministry’s main missions are structured around three (03) key areas of intervention:

- The regulation, supervision, and monitoring of the financial sector;
- Representation and cooperation in monetary and financial matters, particularly within sub-regional integration bodies and international financial institutions.
