MHE Engineers

The company was established by Professor Hesham El Naggar, an internationally acclaimed engineer and a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineers with expertise in the fields of soil-structure interaction, foundation dynamics, and geotechnical earthquake engineering. He has advanced the state-of-the-art in analysis and design of foundations for dynamic loads and contributed to the development of analysis and design tools used by practicing engineers to design resilient and sustainable foundations for critical infrastructure. His cutting-edge work on foundation dynamics and geotechnical earthquake engineering has been incorporated into design guidelines recommended by regulatory bodies and learned societies. Dr. El Naggar is the lead developer of the computer program DYNA6, used globally for the response analysis and design of foundations subjected to different types of dynamic loading. MHE provides consulting services on major industrial and infrastructure projects, including: design of offshore and marine structures, major power plants, infrastructure for renewable energy projects, petrochemical plants, cement plants, mining facilities, oil and gas and LNG projects and transportation infrastructure. MHE technical expertise covers soil-structure interaction; structural dynamics; foundations and structures for vibrating equipment; structural modularization; geotechnical earthquake engineering (site-specific response analysis, liquefaction assessment, seismic stability of slopes and retaining structures); offshore and harbour engineering; static and dynamic analysis of piles and footings; vibration monitoring and mitigation; forensic engineering; and measurement of dynamic soil properties; construction and long-term performance of deep foundations and buried structures; vertical shafts; excavation shoring; finite element modeling; and ground improvement techniques.
