Micro/Nano Robotics Laboratory

The Micro/Nano Robotics Laboratory, founded by Prof. Hossein Nejat Pishkenari at Sharif University of Technology, leads research on small-scale sensors and actuators for applications in minimally invasive medical interventions, biomechanics, and microfluidics. Leveraging advances in microfabrication and control, we utilize magnetic fields and other smart material-based methods to create mobile, functional devices. Our vision is a future where diagnostics, drug delivery, and surgery are fast, precise, and painless—empowered by swarms of miniature robots, soft continuum actuators, magnetic microfluidic agents, and ingestible capsule robots that revolutionize medical procedures, from micro-scale gripping and cutting to advanced sensing.
