Ming Dao High School International Department

Mingdao High School, established in 1969, enrolls 7,600 students and employs over 500 teachers and support staff. The educational programs offered by the school are managed by four operational departments: the Junior School, Senior School, Vocational School, and the International Department. Mingdao’s enduring success has earned it a reputation as one of the most popular private schools in Taiwan that provides a diversified, cutting-edge and best-fit curriculum to all students. Mingdao students are able to discover themselves in a supportive yet challenging high school environment enabling graduates to enter their best-fit and finest universities in Taiwan and around the world. To provide students with more options for future overseas study, Mingdao initiated a prestigious Global Citizenship Program (GCP) in 2007. Later in 2012, the GCP program grew drastically, and we established our very own department - Mingdao International Departent (MDID). In pursuit of Mingdao’s mission to provide quality academic programs, the MDID was requested to initiate research into the adoption of the International Baccalaureate academic curriculum as a means of linking the MDID academic program to a world class educational institution with a consistent methodology for delivering quality instruction. As of 2014, the MDID has functioned as an IB candidate school as it prepares its facilities, leadership and the entire stakeholder community of faculty, students and parents to seek authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization to officially deliver the Middle Years Program in Grades 7-10 and the Diploma Programme for students in Grades 11 and 12.
