Minotaur Therapeutics commercializes a new class of therapeutic based on the cow antibody scaffold. Cows have unique domains called "knobs" that are built within a traditional antibody. These knobs can be produced as independent fragments, which at 5 kDa are the smallest functional antibody fragments. These small knobs can bind recessed and challenging epitopes and, because of their small size, can penetrate tumors and other tissues more effectively than larger antibodies. The unique humanized cow antibody scaffold can also be used to stabilize unstable proteins, like cytokines. Minotaur's lead program is a stabilized IL-15 molecule for immuno-oncology applications.
