Mistra SafeChem is a Swedish research programme with the aim to enable and promote the expansion of a safe, sustainable, and green chemical industry.
The programme is developed with the twelve principles of green chemistry as a fundament. It is funded by Mistra, The Swedish foundation for strategic environmental research. Work in phase 1 ran from 2020 to 2024, phase 2 runs until 2028.
Current research partners: IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, RISE, Stockholm University, KTH, Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and Uppsala University.
Current industrial partners: AstraZeneca, BASF, Cambrex, EnginZyme, LigniCore, Merck, Nouryon, Perstorp Innovation and Stockholm Vatten och Avfall.
