MMRD was founded in 1992 by U Moe Kyaw and quickly established itself as a leading market research company and publisher of the first trade directory in Myanmar – the Yangon Directory. Today, the MMRD Group and its affiliated companies employ over 600 staff across three core divisions: Research Services, Search & Guide, and Trading. Until 1992, when the Yangon Directory was first published, there were no classified listings of businesses operating in Myanmar. MMRD Search & Guide responded to this need and was met with gratitude when 2,000 people queued up to receive a copy on the Yangon Directory’s first day of publication. For 30 consecutive years, we have been bringing buyers and sellers together through our wide array of printed directories. In 2002, MMRD Search & Guide launched the first online classified directory in Myanmar, www.yangondirectory.com which is connecting over a million of buyers and sellers together digitally every year. In 2014, the Yangon Directory mobile application was first launched, providing consumers with access to the classified database of Yangon businesses through the mobile phone.
