Mo’ Motion teaches beginner through advanced players the importance of heart, effort, respect, and self-discipline. Players who exude these characteristics while investing in a consistent and intelligent training program will create and earn positive basketball and life experiences. All players - from recreational levels to high school teams to college level - will improve if they establish and commit to a proper ratio of smart & disciplined training:game hours. (A pianist doesn't just show up for the recitals.) Mo' Motion believes strongly in letting coaches coach and parents parent. Children and young adults learn best when these important distinctions are drawn and reinforced through a fair, rigorous, and skill-based curriculum, which is the key driving force behind game play and individual improvement. Learning is a process that needs to be managed over time. (A fifth grade teacher doesn't teach algebra.) We teach children in grades Pre-K through 12 the proper doses of learning over time, while benefiting from a good sweat, games and fun. We offer weekend training sessions, Boost weeknight workouts, private and semi-private sessions in addition to our local Manhattan-based league called The Gotham Basketball Association. In the GBA, we compete against Motion teams and other NYC/metro teams. The league consists of 80 teams, which are divided by skill and experience level in effort to create constructive game experiences. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Mo’ Motion raises funds and donates our time and services to the GBA. We often renovate gyms and provide or fix scoreboards. We also assist underprivileged youths and schools to promote equal sports, education and fitness opportunities.
