Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club has 300 classified active patrol members who volunteer their time. From September to May each year our volunteers perform over 14,000 patrol hours between them on Mooloolaba Beach as well as supporting surrounding clubs.
Combining the community service our members offer on patrol with the Council Lifeguard service, the beach is patrolled 7 days a week every day of the year.
Training is a vital part of the operation of the Lifesaving Club with all patrol members trained by the volunteer Training Officers in lifesaving skills. These skills are updated each year to ensure a high standard is maintained. We also host a number of development camps for youth to ensure they are given the confidence and leadership skills required to lead a successful career in surf life saving.
Our training, education and development efforts don’t finish at the club. We reach out into the community and offer surf safety and awareness talks to school groups and people visiting from interstate and overseas.
