Moorabool Valley Eggs Pty Ltd company information, Employees & Contact Information

The story of Moorabool Valley Eggs starts in 1965. The Colla family, who migrated from Holland, made their entry into the egg industry on a modest scale with the purchase of a small holding in 1955. In 1965, three of the brothers, Guido, Paul and Vincent Colla, took over the family farm. They soon purchased an existing 10-acre egg farm on the Bellarine Peninsula, in the historic town of Queenscliff, Victoria, which they named Happy Hens Egg Farm. What followed in the 1980’s was the planned expansion into the mainstream egg production and the building of a state of the art facility in Meredith, Victoria. It now boasts the following integrated facilities in the Moorabool Valley near the town of Meredith, Victoria: • A 160,000-day old to point of lay layer pullet cage rearing facility and 30,000-floor growing shed • 60,000 bird Free Range facility • 336,000 bird cage layer facility • A modern egg grading and packing plant Today, due to a successful growth phase in its Free Range egg sales, Moorabool Valley Eggs have expanded its supply base. This expansion includes selected contracted producers in the Mornington Peninsula and Grampians regions. These suppliers provide eggs exclusively from a further 150,000 Free Range birds to Moorabool Valley Eggs supporting the Happy Hens brand.
