MorseCode Medical is dedicated to improving global healthcare access through medical devices specifically designed for global health environments (DfG), especially low resource settings. What does MCM do? MorseCode Medical specializes in the commercialization of DfG medical devices. We leverage our medical device industry and international NGO expertise in our work with with late-stage start-ups, NGOs, entrepreneurs, academic institutions and ministries of health to take medical device concepts from prototype/MVP to scalable, robust, cost-effective, on-market products. What is DfG? Design for Global Health Environments means quality products that can meet cost and performance requirements such as handle power surges, rolling black-outs, lack of climate control, intermittent internet connection, not dependent on disposables and other environmental concerns not typically accounted for. We accomplish this through: - the development and distribution of robust, low-cost, high quality medical devices - training and consulting with in-country entrepreneurs to commercialize their products - innovative solutions that address the extreme shortages of available medical personnel, especially in rural areas - partnerships with governments, health systems, non-profit organizations and other likeminded companies Have you found a great idea you would love to use in your clinic, only to find it isn't for sale? MCM doesn't stop at prototyping. Medical devices need to be reliable and manufacturable at a low enough cost to integrate into the local ecosystem. We accomplish this by partnering inventors with experienced engineers and clinicians. Together we create elegant designs that get the job done without extras driving up the price or hand-built solutions that can't be scaled.
