MovingBeyond (‘MB’), was set up in 2021 on the runway to CoP26 with an ambition to find a new way to unite diverse leaders from business, investors, government, and civic society. As a not-for-profit, we aim to further enable the Just Transition, accelerate UK Net Zero and to co-create more sustainable ways of life.
Since then, we have deliberately chosen to step into areas such as Teesside and Newham, that have felt the full impact of changing industrial strategy or will be most vulnerable to the full impacts of climate change.
After 25+ years working with major corporations, co-founders Simon Milton (Pulse) and Jamie Anley (JAM) both realised the Just Transition would require much bolder ways to collaborate and convene the change needed. They recognised the limitations of the UN or top down government or corporate intervention. Thus, MovingBeyond set about creating safe spaces and innovative processes for even braver conversations, breaking down barriers, so that people from all walks of life could begin to imagine very different ways of doing things, together.
MovingBeyond seeks to model how we need to ‘be’ with each other so we can break down barriers and begin to ‘do’ the right thing, to the best of our abilities. We have seen first-hand people are hungry for these types of exchanges - founded on honesty, trust and humanity.
Since 2021, we have developed differentiated capability in convening, facilitating and catalysing action across the UK. In doing so, we are growing a community of diverse committed leaders (200+), covering many sectors and topic areas, ready to provide invaluable acumen to the Aberdeen Just Transition Collaboration.
Beyond our events, attendees are invited to monthly online check-ins and have access to digital platforms where they can continue to share latest news, projects, and opportunities for collaboration. Our community is growing every year with a wide range of people from across the world actively in contact every day.
