MPI - A STEP Member Service

The Managed Portfolio Indices (MPI) are provided as a STEP Member Service. The peer group Indices, calculated on a monthly basis, display the performance and risk characteristics of investment portfolios that are managed on a discretionary basis on behalf of persons acting in a fiduciary capacity. MPI was launched in 2012 as a STEP Member Service and is distributed free to STEP members and Private Client Practitioners. Its core aim is to bring about transparency and understanding between the trustee and discretionary investment management professions with regard to communicating investment risk and understanding investment returns. The Indices were designed to be used by STEP Members as peer group performance benchmarks incorporating clearly defined risk parameters, which naturally align with the fiduciary role. The parameters of the three risk profiles are defined by maximum drawdown and volatility measures. The indices draw data from 50+ Investment Managers from the UK, Channel Islands, Europe, North America and Asia and include large institutions and dedicated investment houses alongside established and newer boutiques. The Managed Portfolio Indices are available in GBP, USD & EUR in Low, Medium and High risk and can be accessed on FE analytics, Morningstar platforms, social media platforms or by registering on www.mpindices.com
