NAMI Florida’s mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by mental health conditions through education, support, and advocacy.
We are the state organization of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization.
Our Priorities:
- Support our Affiliates who serve the mental health needs of their communities.
- Expand NAMI programs into rural areas of Florida.
- Strengthen the peer specialist workforce through training and mentorship.
- Empower youth and young adults to become the next generation of advocates.
- Partner with Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training, equipping law enforcement with the skills to respond effectively to mental health-related calls.
- Advocate at the state and federal levels for improvements in the behavioral health system of care.
- Advocate for peers and families to have a voice in decision-making at every level, from individual care and wellness to state and federal policy.
