The NAMOR Project is redefining the future of urban water management by creating a sustainable, resilient, and circular water cycle. At our core is an innovative hybrid system that combines the power of nature, through the co-cultivation of microalgae and bacteria, with advanced membrane filtration. This modular, plug-and-play solution enables decentralised treatment of diverse water streams, integrating seamlessly with existing infrastructure to deliver high-quality, fit-for-purpose water with minimal energy consumption. What sets NAMOR apart is our commitment to smart, adaptive technology. Our system is driven by a sophisticated Digital Twin, equipped with predictive analytics and a Decision Support System to optimize performance, maximize resource recovery, and ensure robust operation across different climate zones and conditions. Our key contributions include: - Circular Economy: Valorising biomass for nutrient and energy recovery. - Digital Intelligence: Using a Digital Twin for real-time monitoring and predictive optimisation. - Sustainability: Drastically reducing the energy and environmental footprint of water treatment. - Social Engagement: Actively involving citizens and developing policy recommendations to foster social acceptance of decentralised solutions. A collaborative effort of 12 dedicated partners, NAMOR is paving the way for adaptable, efficient, and intelligent urban water systems worldwide.
