At nanoDC, the Research and Development (RnD) team is dedicated to finding solutions to some of the most complex problems in the field, which includes everything from semiconductor devices to circuits to architecture. In the area of devices, the focus is on device exploration, design, optimization, characterization and compact modeling of advanced FETs, 2D Material based devices, III-V semiconductors, RF devices and much more. The circuit research covers various aspects such as radiation-hardened circuits, low-power designs, Network-on-Chip (NoC) designs, ASIC-based chip designs, and asynchronous circuits. In addition, the team also studies the challenges of designs at the system level to address the potential effects. This requires developing independent tools for analysis and modifying existing tools to accurately reflect the behavior of the system. The team is able to carry out this research effectively thanks to the state-of-the-art facilities and the collaboration among different research domains. The growth of the team is further accelerated through partnerships with various research institutions, industries, and organizations.
