Nano Space

Students building and launching satellites may be a rare phenomenon in the world, but in Israel there are already some well-known projects, including Dokifat 1, Dokifat 2 and Dokifat 3. Project Tevel (students building satellites) is the next generation, where the Israeli space agency in the Ministry of Science and Technology is leading a cross-authority project. Construction and testing of 8 satellites and their launch on 14.1.2021. As part of a collaboration with the Herzliya Science Center, which managed the program, 8 schools have established an infrastructure for satellite integration and testing activities, communication stations that will enable satellite monitoring, telemetry reception and scientific data. The purpose of satellites is to demonstrate communication capabilities with ground stations and to serve a variety of missions. Beyond that, the educational program as a whole is in fact an infrastructure for advancing specialization in the fields of space in the upper division, as well as the development of human capital and the establishment of the physical infrastructure required to manage additional projects in the future.
