The National Association for Safety and Health in Care Services (NASHiCS) focuses on the many aspects of health and safety affecting the Care Sector. It was formed in October 2004 from the National Social Care Health and Safety Forum, being formally constituted in June 2006, but in existence under other names since May 1996. The Association and its Members deal with regulatory bodies such the HSE, CQC; along with topics including transport for the disabled, communicable disease control, Legionella, falls prevention, manual handling techniques, restraint, hot water, dealing with aggression, lifting aids, fire safety, stress, first-aid, to safety training, building design and smoking. NASHiCS has gone from strength to strength since its inception and now has a growing membership throughout the whole of the UK. Our Mission: To lead excellence and improve safety and health in care practice by providing a sharing and networking forum to encourage the development and adoption of the highest professional standards. This page is our bit towards providing impartial help and support to the care industry.
