NatuRAPT research group

The research group NatuRAPT of the University of Antwerp has a unique expertise in Flanders in the areas of Pharmaceutical Analysis, Medicinal plants, Natural products, Nutraceuticals and Pharmaceutical Technology. This includes: - the isolation and identification of biologically active substances from medicinal plants - the assessment of biotransformation and bioavailability of these substances via our validated in vitro gastrointestinal model with colon phase - the evaluation of the health effects of herbal medicinal products and functional foods - the development and validation of analytical methods - quality control of herbal medicinal products and food supplements - formulation- and process-optimization for innovative dosage forms We carry out our analytical activities under GMP-accreditation.
