ND Wireless Institute

The University of Notre Dame has a rich history in wireless technology research dating back to the 1800s. The esteemed faculty made strides in this field by conducting the first wireless transmission in the U.S. from the University's Basilica of the Sacred Heart to Saint Mary's College, spanning almost a mile. Since 2010, the university has utilized the faculty's expertise and mission to address interdisciplinary issues and positively impact the world. Notre Dame's wireless research encompasses a range of areas, including broadband and wireless internet access, power-efficient millimeter wave transceiver architectures, radio spectrum sensing and sharing, and the development of new applications for these technologies.
