The purpose of NEFONL is to advance the future of healthcare and nursing through innovation and expert nursing leadership in Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, and Putnam counties and throughout the State of Florida.
After over 30 years of activity, the NEFONE Chapter ceased to exist in 2014 or 2015. In the Spring of 2021, new interest emerged to relaunch the chapter. Initial meetings with the FONE Executive Board in March 2021 assisted with connecting interested leaders in Region IV.
On June 4, 2021, a petition was forwarded to the Board of Directors by 12 FONE members requesting approval to re-establish the NEFONE Chapter. Approval was received on June 10, 2021.
The NEFONE Chapter began meeting virtually by Zoom once a month in July, August, and September. During this timeframe, the membership grew to 14. Chapter Bylaws were reviewed and adopted on August 14, 2021. A Call for Nominations for the 2021 – 2023 NEFONE Executive Board was forwarded to all the members. On October 8, 2021 with 11 of 14 members voting (79%), the NEFONE Executive Board was confirmed.
