New Roots Workshop CIC

The New Roots Workshop CIC supports young people attain the skills required to achieve in further education and employment. Our aim is to support those young people at risk of exclusion from mainstream education by providing a space where they can learn vocational skills in preparation for further education and employment. By offering a range of different skills from carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing through to tiling and decorating we aim to instill a sense of confidence in young people’s ability to thrive outside a traditional classroom space. All skills are taught at a very accessible level with the aim of bolstering existing school curriculums, obtaining essential life skills along the way. Further to gaining these new skills we mentor young people onto their next steps such as college placements or potential employment, embedding communication skills, teamwork, resilience and self-awareness helping young people to reach a greater potential. Building on attaining these fundamental skills we support their continued journey by working with local community engagement programmes, instilling a sense of pride and feel good in giving something back.
