NewBreed translates the vast tomato genetic resources and expertise that was developed in the laboratory of Prof. Dani Zamir at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem to superior F1 hybrids. Genomic information of 3500 mutants, 10,000 varieties from around the world and introgression populations involving seven tomato wild species are being used for classical breeding of varieties for all segments of the tomato market: greenhouse cultivation, open filed production for the fresh market and the processing industry as well as pot tomatoes for decoration and for urban agriculture.
