New Citizen Project is a consultancy business on a mission to speed the shift to a more participatory society we call the #CitizenShift.
We believe that, given the right opportunity, people can and will shape the things that matter to them for the better. In order to unlock the power and energy of people as Citizens, all our work asks the question: What if we treated people as participants in causes, not just consumers of products?
This way of working is rooted in an understanding of a shift in the dominant idea of the role of the individual in society from Subject to Consumer over the course of the 20th century, and now from Consumer to Citizen. We see this shift as crucial to the very survival of humanity as a species. But we also believe that organisations of all sectors, shapes, and sizes can benefit from stepping into this shift - and we exist to help them do just that.

We have partnered with the BBC, Amnesty International, National Trust, the British Film Institute, Tate galleries, the National Union of Students, YouGov, the Centre for Public Impact, the Food Standards Agency and the Food Ethics Council.
