As Business Manager, I have managed a range of participatory projects across sectors alongside our multidisciplinary team: creating and delivering participatory strategies, building capacity for organisational change, and exploring the potential for citizen innovation at the level of local and national government. I regularly run training and inspiration sessions to build knowledge, skills and confidence in our client partners, and develop new business proposals that push forward the work of our organisations and those we work with, to a more participatory future.

New Citizenship Project is a social innovation consultancy and think tank, catalysing the shift to a more participatory society.A new era is emerging, where the dominant idea of what it means to participate in society is as a citizen, not a consumer, and organisations from big businesses to small charities are changing the way that they work with people. New Citizenship Project helps companies articulate their purpose in the world and apply that to the way they work, through innovation consultancy and collaborative projects.As Team Coordinator, I helped to facilitate workshops and work with our team to develop outputs, whilst supporting the organisation's administration, social media and event coordination. Examples of partners I have worked with include local government, national charities, governmental bodies and cultural heritage organisations.

Empathy Week is an international education programme using the power of film and social action to build empathy, resilience and leadership in young people.Together, we are building the #EmpathyGeneration.Since September 2019, I've been working with fellow Bath alumnus and founder of the programme, Ed Kirwan, to develop Empathy Week from the ground up. I've supported the programme in various ways including including business and creative strategy development, content creation and research. Some highlights have included a putting together a partnership with Smart School Councils for their 'Home Debate Club' as well as facilitating an international teacher community of educators building the #EmpathyGeneration in their schools.As a board member, I work with the talented team to determine the future direction of the programme. Elected in a campus wide vote of 18,000 students to the post of Sport Officer for the Students' Union, which also made me a trustee of the multi-million pound charity.In this role my main achievements included reworking the pricing structure of membership fees, delivering Mental Health in Sport Training and launching an Exercise Referral Scheme for mental health including a peer to peer buddy system. Other experiences have included chairing SU Finance and Audit Committee and the Sports Disciplinary Panel and sitting on SU Governance, Leadership and Operations committees, University Sport Scholarship and Alumni Fund Panels, Mental Health Working Group. I also was involved in the Project Control Groups for a gym expansion and 3G pitch construction.My day-to-day work involved working with the 49 student sports clubs, their committees and various SU, University and external stakeholders to enhance the student experience and create an inclusive culture within sport at the University.

Completed a professional placement year at Surrey Human Performance Institute which involved working with athletes and patients in the lab and the field.Gained experience in research, marketing, customer relations and lab, field and hospital-based testing. Highlights include testing at Triathlon Show London, running pre-hab ACL/hamstring clinics for Fulham FC and Harlequins RFC, weekly pre-operative risk assessment including ECG and cardio-pulmonary exercise testing, delivering NHS Health Checks, and running a research project on hamstring strength in women's football.

During my first year at university, I worked on injury prevention projects CRISP (Community Rugby Injury Surveillance Project) and FMC (Functional Movement Control). CRISP involved providing one of two warm-up protocols to men's rugby clubs up to NL2, injury rates were then compared.My responsibility was to visit clubs to explain and demonstrate the warm-ups to the players and staff. FMC involved visiting schools for a similar project, however, my role was to collect anthropometric data of the players pre-test. These projects contributed to published research used by the RFU.This research has continued long since I stopped working on the project and has led to rule changes and adjustments at an international level, helping over 9 million players reduce their risk of injury.
