Next Step To Success (NSTS) is a program geared for youth 13-18 years old in Norfolk (18-year-olds must be in high school). All youth must be permanent residents of Norfolk and meet income requirements. NSTS provides after-school and summer programming to youth participants, offering them a wide range of academic, enrichment, character education curriculum, activities, field trips and special events.
Our mission is to help youth in Norfolk build the independent, resilient character they will need to earn success and enjoy happy, fulfilling lives as adults.
Our vision is to cut the poverty rate in Norfolk by one-half over the next 10 years.
We partner with NSTS youth and their families to work with them and help ensure youth have the skills and preparation they need to succeed and break the cycle of poverty.
