The NIHR Oxford and Thames Valley Applied Research Collaboration (OxTV ARC) brings together universities, NHS organisations, local authorities, charities, and other partners to conduct and implement applied health, care, and public health research that benefits the people of Oxfordshire and surrounding areas.
Hosted by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and led by the University of Oxford's Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, we focus on developing evidence-based solutions to priority issues including mental health, healthy ageing, health inequalities, and prevention.
Our research aims to improve health outcomes, enhance care quality and efficiency, reduce service pressures, and increase sustainability. We build capacity for impactful applied research through training, systems improvement, and knowledge sharing.
By working collaboratively with our regional partners and stakeholders, we strive to achieve real-world impact that enhances health, care, and wellbeing.
As part of the national NIHR ARC network, we provide leadership in digital health, multimorbidity, and translating research into practice.
We are part of the National Institute for Health and Care Research's national network of Applied Research Collaborations. The NIHR ARC program supports collaboration between the NHS, universities, local government, charities and other partners to conduct applied health research focused on the needs of local communities. By working as part of this national network, we help drive progress in implementation science, applied health research, and translating evidence into real-world impact locally and nationally.
