Team Nirbhoya: Championing Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights in Bangladesh Team Nirbhoya is a social initiative dedicated to improving sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) and promoting gender equality in marginalized communities across Bangladesh. Focused on empowering underprivileged men, women, and adolescents, particularly in the tea forest areas of Sreemangal, Nirbhoya addresses critical issues such as menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, and SRHR education. Our Mission To create a sustainable impact by raising awareness, providing accessible education, and fostering financial independence for women in marginalized regions through innovative and inclusive solutions. What We Do: In-Person Awareness Campaigns Conduct comprehensive training sessions led by experts to educate communities on SRHR, menstrual hygiene, and reproductive health. Distribute illustrated booklets and empower local youth ambassadors to facilitate ongoing sessions. Tech-Based Solutions Develop an accessible app featuring educational content in Bangla, a period tracker, fertility calendar, and virtual consultations with medical professionals. Include features for men and adolescents to promote gender-inclusive health awareness. Social Enterprise Train women to produce affordable, reusable sanitary pads, creating income opportunities while addressing menstrual hygiene challenges. Sell products via local markets and the app, empowering women financially and promoting health. Policy Advocacy and Partnerships Collaborate with community leaders, religious figures, and healthcare workers to foster acceptance and advocate for policy changes. Partner with organizations to amplify impact and resource-sharing. At Team Nirbhoya, we believe SRHR is a fundamental human right.
