About Civic Horizons
Civic Horizons is a regional consortium led by the Arab Institute for Human Rights, in collaboration with five national, regional organizations in North Africa and the Middle East. Co-Funded by the European Union, the consortium operates in Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon. The primary goal of the consortium is to expand the support provided to civil society actors and organizations and sustain the civil space through strategic and innovative approaches. This is achieved through knowledge production, capacity building, and advocacy efforts. The program targets various stakeholders in civil society, with a particular focus on youth, women, and marginalized groups in local communities. It aims to enhance their understanding of the challenges that threaten the effectiveness of civil society at social, organizational, and legal levels. Additionally, the program initiates community projects and initiatives to promote trust in the civil space. Finally, its activities encompass advocacy, awareness-raising, networking, and engaging with decision-makers to create a public and inclusive civil space grounded in human rights, transparency, and participation.
