Nomad

Nomad is a long-term platform that focuses on the production, presentation, and promotion of artists affected by various consequences of transition and uncertainty. Nomad was established in Zagreb in 2014 in order to investigate strategies of care for visual artists navigating in the post-Yugoslavian cultural landscape. It has since grown and its members work from Zagreb, Vienna, Berlin, and London as the uncertainty has been globally dominating the cultural sector during the pandemic. Nomad is growing with this sector, understanding current possibilities and creating new strategies for better future for visual artists. It is investigating and developing tailored policies individually with artists based on understanding of their demands, to enable them development of careers in efficient and enjoyable ways. In broader context, it keeps developing methods and tools that visual artists in transitional and post-transitional economies need. Nomad facilitates flexible, collaborative and temporary network of art institutions and individuals, who appreciate cross-disciplinary exchange, reciprocal codependence, cooperation and creativity of everyone involved. Its activities are inclined towards co-productions with museums, galleries, and collections. Nomad is open to exchanging projects with institutions and individuals that support artists from all over the world.
