Odd Projects was started because we kept seeing the same scenario over and over. Every elite ad agency and consultancy had high minimum media spends, large management fees, or required long-term contracts that would step up in cost with the addition of any additional media channel or tactic. Brands kept asking for something new, something different, or some additional way to test how to better optimize their spend. In return - they were met with hurdles at every step of the process - agencies had an incremental cost, or the talent wasn't there and they'd need to staff up, or the client must add X or Y scope of work.
Ultimately we saw the decisions brands had to make - keep investing in what is driving moderate success or make a large bet on a new tactic or channel and pray it pays off. That large bet was hard to swallow - especially for mid-market companies with limited advertising spend. Many chose the safe route; and ultimately that put many companies behind their competition.
