Founder, Rita De Michele started building Onus after hearing people talk about their varied experiences with health experts.
There were common threads:
*GPs were limited in the amount of time and care they were able to provide patients.
*Specialist waiting times were too long.
*Alternative healthcare was not in sync with traditional advice.
*Families were feeling isolated and lonely, not able to find answers or support.
Rita wanted to bring people managing health conditions together, because we must all take ownership of our communities’ health, so we can find solutions, together.
What is Onus?
Onus is a health crowdsourcing app. It is a sustainable, solution-focused platform, where members are encouraged to self-manage their health and wellbeing via an online community and by making professional healthcare more accessible.
How does it work?
Members can share stories about their health journey and assist others who may be struggling with theirs. It is an open community focused on solutions and change, supported by health experts.
Initially, practitioners will be invited to promote their business with a business profile page, featuring a clickable website link and the ability to add industry specific content to answer our community’s health concerns.
In subsequent releases, there will be greater levels of incentive and functionality for Practitioners, including the opportunity to host online appointments and build their own community.
Mission - It is our mission to provide a space where members can feel empowered to transform their health, in a collective power to influence social change.
Vision - To support the convergence of traditional and alternative health, to give practitioners the opportunity to paint a more complete picture for people taking ownership of their health.
