Founded in Istanbul in 1974, OPAŞ has continued its steady development since then and has become one of the companies that the Turkish automotive sub-industry can be proud of. The company, which produced automotive ignition systems in its early days, has continuously expanded its product range and has reached the technology and manpower to produce all types of ignition system elements found in modern vehicles. Its main products currently include distributor and magneto platinums, distributor caps, various types of capacitors, spark plug cable sets and distribution reels, heavy-duty induction coils, new generation ignition coils, sensors, lambda sensors, and air flow meters. OPAŞ, which continued its production by obtaining a license (know-how) from the German DODUCO KG DR. E. Dürrwachter company in 1982, has thus become the most important ignition system manufacturer in the world markets. As a result of this relationship that continued with mutual trust until 1996, the complete facility in Germany was purchased by OPAŞ with the agreement to transfer production and the facility was brought to Turkey, and later Doduco was purchased by BERU A.G., another important company in Germany, and as a result of the continuation of the same agreement, OPAŞ became a long-term supplier of BERU A.G. Later, as a result of the merger of BERU A.G. and BorgWarner, OPAŞ became a supplier of BorgWarner BERU Systems GmbH with the same conditions. While OPAŞ was a supplier of BorgWarner BERU Systems GmbH for many years, it has been continuing as a supplier of Federal Mogul Aftermarket GmbH since 2013. As a result of its management philosophy that has not compromised on quality since the first day, our company has been certified by Bureau Veritas with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certificate and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System Certificate and continues its planned work especially on Total Quality Management.
