Open Haven assists women who have experienced Domestic Violence to rebuild their lives and become independent thriving members of our community. We deliver personalised assistance to these women through ongoing emotional and practical support. Our services are administrated in a safe environment and include, but are not limited to, our weekly open house event. Open Haven is a post-crises DV organization and relies on community (non-government) funding.
Goals/Objectives
In FY 23/24 Open Haven has 3 goals:
- To aid 350 women and their children
- To raise funding to allow for a full time Charity Manager and a part time group leader
- To raise awareness of DV in the community via delivering 12 speaking engagements
Long Term Goals
Open Haven plans to grow significantly over the long term. The model is simple and scalable and with the support of local churches and communities it could grow quickly. Open Haven plans to develop this community model across the greater Brisbane area and Queensland within 3 years and across Australia within 5 years.
