We are standing on the cusp of history. Governments globally are recognizing the value of well-guided partnerships in achieving national and global health goals. Policymakers are worrying less about who owns the health facility down the road, and more about the facility's ability to manage the mother who has been brought in with postpartum complications, without impoverishing her family.
Sadly, we haven't done a good job to date, of characterizing innovations that exist in our settings and preconditions for their success, connecting actors in the ecosystem to establish a shared vision, and co-designing and implementing solutions that build on strengths across the ecosystem.
