High school students face many problems: finding meaningful extracurriculars, finding scholarships, writing college essays, balancing your life in general and more which are all worsened when navigating the process alone. Private college counseling can oftentimes be too expensive to consider and doesn’t cater to all of the needs of high school students. OpenCounsel has created a free mentorship program pairing current middle and high school students, regardless of their financial situation, with a college student. Unlike private college counseling, our mentors are fresh faced having just emerged from the college application process themselves. Our goal is to help any student attend any institution and study any subject.
