Optimed d.o.o. is a Belgrade based pharmaceutical and medtech company whose management has over 20 years of experience in the field.
For over two decades innovation has been the main driving force behind our success. In 1998 we introduced the first ever eye vitamin on the Serbian market. Introducing a novel therapeutic technique is always a challenge as it requires a great deal of knowledge and commitment to the project. By 2006, eye vitamins became a standard when treating eye diseases.
In the years that followed, our commitment to Serbian ophthalmology continued. We introduced the phaco operating technique which required us to train over 60 local doctors. Joint effort between our company and numerous regional hospitals resulted in the opening of many operating rooms thus improving access to healthcare for many. Simultaneously, Serbian ophthalmology started implanting the soft intraocular lens.
In 2013 Optimed underwent a re-branding phase at the end of which it came out with a revised corporate identity and business strategy. The company shifted away from surgery in order to concentrate its efforts on preventive medicine, especially in the field of AMD and diabetes.
By 2018 we expanded our product portfolio by introducing our own brand of products. These will play a key role in our upcoming project on monitoring chronic diseases. Optimed is currently developing a software which will completely revolutionize and modernize Serbian treatment and prevention of ophthalmic diseases.
Alatyr, which we have been internally developing for close to three years, is in the final phases before being launched. Kula and Subotica, followed by Nis, will become the first cities where patients will have access to it. Serbian medical community has had a lot of faith in our mission and together with them we keep on setting the bar higher thus expanding therapeutic possibilities of Serbian healthcare.
