OralKleen, a Fall 2019 Arizona Innovation Challenge Awardee, has developed a device that addresses the problem of inadequate oral health solutions for compromised patients. OralKleen targets Ventilator-Acquired Pneumonia (VAP).

Healthcare providers have reported significant difficulty delivering oral hygiene to hospitalized patients, especially those who are incapacitated.
Ventilated patients are the highest level of concern and most compromised. Up to 100,000 people die each year in the United States from infections acquired while mechanically ventilated in the ICU.
