The Osgoode Women's Network (OWN) is a student organization at Osgoode Hall Law School offering the opportunity for student involvement and focusing on professional and personal development. Founded in 2009 in support of Ontario's Justicia Project, OWN’s mission is to advance women in law through networking, mentorship, and skills-building. We have since become one of the largest groups at Osgoode.
OWN aims to provide an inclusive and accessible space for students to connect, develop skills, and learn from other women in the profession. We believe that intersectionality is vital and are committed to centralizing voices that have been historically marginalized. We seek, in particular, to provide a safe space for women of colour as we continue to evolve as a Network.
Throughout the year, OWN holds networking events, career panels, and skills workshops. We also facilitate mentorship through community involvement, social events, and our upper year and alumnae mentorship programs.
All OWN fundraising goes towards charitable organizations, as well as providing quality networking opportunities for students.
