Our Nation Enduring

Our Nation Enduring (O.N.E.) is a Rhode Island based nonprofit, formed to provide ongoing support to veterans and service members in the fight against the many obstacles they face.O.N.E. seeks to save at least one veteran or service member from taking their own life—a tragedy all too frequent and avoidable. The O.N.E. model pairs applicants—veterans or service members in need of aid—with mentors of a similar military background for peer-to-peer support. In doing so, O.N.E. strives to create support networks and enrich the lives of veterans and service members. The O.N.E. Program’s focus shifts on a case by case basis, tailoring highly individualized support to each mentee’s needs. Our Nation Enduring’s mentoring program is predicated on five principals, or pillars: Primary Mentorship, Mental Health, Physical Health, Spiritual Health, and Finance. It is upon these pillars that O.N.E. looks to help build stable, fulfilling lives for mentees. As we grow, O.N.E. will provide educational resources to help both veterans and their family members cope with PTSD, depression, disability, unemployment, homelessness, and the myriad of other issues facing the brave men and women of the United States military. Mentors receive training and will participate in periodic oversight meetings to report their mentees’ progress. Still, mentors are no substitute for professional help. O.N.E. does NOT directly provide the services of medical professionals, mental health counselors, or consultants, nor do we seek to replace professional intervention. However, we hope to supplement existing resources in the fight to empower veterans and their families in getting the assistance they deserve.
