At Paddle for Peace, our mission is to diversify the coast. We inspire and empower BIPOC, low income, and inner city youth through inclusive and engaging ocean conservation, marine science education, and ocean recreation. We aim to break down barriers to outdoor recreation and environmental stewardship by providing access to quality programs that blend hands on learning with outdoor adventure. Through activities such as surfing, snorkeling, paddleboarding, swimming, and coastal exploration, we foster a passion for the ocean, promote physical activity, and nurture the next generation of diverse leaders in marine sciences and conservation. By encouraging participants to fall in love with the coast through play, we help them develop a natural desire to protect it. We also recognize the ocean's profound capacity to heal and use our programs to help participants overcome historic and generational traumas faced by people of color, creating a path towards peace, resilience, and holistic well being.
