PADRE stands for Pediatrics-Adolescent Diabetes Research and Education Foundation. PADRE was started 40 years ago by a father of a newly diagnosed 5 year old girl, who was searching for resources and information regarding Type 1 diabetes.
Today, PADRE serves hundreds of families in Orange County and surrounding areas, through a variety of activities that are hosted by the organization including: Educational classes, Psycho-social activities for youth and teens, the PADRE Fashion Show, the annual Golf Tournament, and Family Nights.
PADRE additionally offers monthly educational and support classes including a Caregiver's class; which helps grandparents, relatives, and babysitters gain knowledge about diabetes safety.
