There is a fundamental human attraction to places that evoke a sense of “shelter and prospect.” This is a powerful sensation that occurs when a feeling of comfort and safety within a space is combined with the perception of abundance in the surrounding environment—it is the essence of feeling "home." Park Shadow Associates designs and builds communities with a holistic conception of architecture and landscape design, to provide residents with this primal experience within the context of a contemporary lifestyle. Wildflower gardens, walking paths, and streams meander through the surrounding landscape, while inside, modern technology and aesthetics are given proper weight in balance with timeless principles of design. If we are to have hope for saving the natural environment, we must first re-establish a meaningful connection to it. By being immersed in the beauty of nature on a daily basis, we are better able to understand its profound value and we become more willing to take action to protect it. Park Shadow Associates is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of nature, both at the site of our residences and in locations where we can have the greatest impact. Our work includes planting more trees than were cut down during construction and enhancing our landscapes for endangered and threatened wildlife species inhabiting our communities.
