PAWA Architecture is a Cairns based creative design business specialising in climate-responsive, remote-tropical and sustainable architecture. Established in Far North Queensland by Managing Director and Senior Architect, Mr Andrew McFadden, PAWA delivers projects on time and to budget that require local knowledge and intel and match with high community and stakeholder expectations to achieve optimum outcomes for the client. PAWA’s Managing Director Andrew McFadden has a great deal of experience in this specialist field and PAWA continues to develop an impressive portfolio and network in this field. PAWA has a community driven, in-country approach that is very grass roots and recognises the critical need for this swiftly developing nation to play an important part in designing and constructing buildings that reflect their needs not those imposed by developed countries. Andrew has 12 years’ experience working in the architectural profession and is committed to the on-going development of community-based remote and indigenous architecture. Andrew has been registered as a Practicing Architect under the Board of Architects Queensland since 2010 (Reg #4390). He has worked all over Queensland and throughout the Pacific. Andrew is a Registered Architect in Papua New Guinea (Reg #198) and co-leads the PAWA Architecture PNG practice. PAWA’s expertise in sustainable design and tropical architecture, has been endorsed by the Green Building Council of Australia and PAWA is an active member of GBCA with Greenstar Accredited status. PAWA’s vision is to provide “architecture for people, for community” and this ethos is embedded within all design projects that the company undertakes, they see this as their key driver to success.
