50 dogs on death row. To be executed by gunshot. What would you do? One brave woman refused to just stand by, and that is how Pawssion Project was born. Founded in October 2018 by Malou Perez, Pawssion Project Foundation Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of animals in need. Pawssion Project began in Bacolod City, armed simply with a lot of hope, courage and the unwavering support of a few good friends. After that first City Pound rescue, numerous reports poured in one after another, which eventually led to the opening of a second shelter in Bulacan in mid 2019. Since then, the journey has led Pawssion Project to more than 2000 rescues, 1000 rehomed animals and 600 sheltered dogs and cats. Aside from sustaining the needs of 2 Animal Shelters in the Philippines, Pawssion Project is also active in holding Adoption Drives and Spay & Neuter Drives in Metro Manila and Bacolod City. Pawssion Project believes in the importance of promoting Compassion towards stray animals. We believe that it really starts with building Compassion and helping people recognize that stray animals matter and deserve to be given a chance. We use Stray Feeding as an opportunity to gain their trust and to show them that there are humans who are willing to care for them. If we are unable to find homes for these stray animals, we can at least help build a kinder environment for them. And of course, part of our Advocacy is to promote Responsible Feeding. We make sure to vaccinate, medicate and neuter the strays we feed.
