Peace Innovation Lab Stanford

We have been at Stanford since 2008, initially as a class then a project within the Persuasive Technology Lab and then a formal lab. Our work sits at the intersection of behavioral psychology, technology innovation, and business. We examine how to design positive, pro-social behavior at scale using mediating technology. Over the years our work has evolved as we have worked to develop this new field of study. Mission Our mission and vision encompass the following: 1. Establish a market signal for the value of peace. Our new Peace Data Standard is a significant step in establishing that signal. 2. Catalyze a peace tech sector and industry. We do this by working with entrepreneurs, innovators and established companies through our City Lab Network and embedded corporate innovation labs so they can create measurable positive peace as a by-product of their products and services. 3. Create a new curriculum for the ethical and safe deployment of emerging technology and innovation. Why? Because in this day and age, any technology can be weaponized in a way its inventors did not intend.
