North Carolina Peer Support Specialist Coalition is a group by peers for peers across the state of North Carolina and across the nation. Our goal is to work together as a collective community to provide education along with other community and organizational based projects/efforts, share resources, and bring awareness to mental health and/or addictions struggles, adverse childhood experiences, psychological trauma, and other systemic issues that unfairly and unjustly punish marginalized populations across all sectors, as well as to advocate for legislation for peer rights including rights to fair and equal pay for one’s lived experience contributions to the hospital and/or community based treatment team model.
