At Peloton Counseling, the role of the therapist is to assist clients in hearing and trusting their own true voice – that which is always gentle, compassionate, and kind. If you cannot hear that gentle, compassionate, and kind voice, our role is to stand in with ours until you can trust your own. The goal is that you will ultimately no longer need us because you will have learned to trust yourself.
Our focus is on staying connected. The heart and intention behind the name Peloton is relationship and community. Peloton defined: a group of bicycle riders that ride together to save energy, similar to how geese form during flight (French originated word, meaning platoon). Just as the saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child, it often takes a village to raise each of us. Relationships provide us with a mirror in which to see ourselves. We are hurt by relationship and we are healed by relationship.
