PEPR BATTERIES

The Program and Priority Equipment for Research on Batteries (PEPR-Batteries), co-led by CNRS and CEA, aims to support innovation in the field of batteries. It focuses on three major axes: 1. Promoting the emergence of innovative chemistries for batteries, thus paving the way for significant advancements in their performance and durability. 2. Developing Battery Management Systems (BMS) tailored to new requirements, enabling more precise and efficient battery management. 3. Developing the necessary tools to support the deployment of these new technologies, thereby ensuring their seamless integration into various application contexts. The composition of this ambitious program is as follows: • 5 targeted projects: HipoHybat, Limasse, Batman, Openstorm, and Sensiga, exploring specific areas of research and development. • 7 projects selected through a Call for Projects: Sonic, Legend, Simba, Discovery, Radical, Heal B&B, and Frisbi, reflecting the diversity of approaches and envisioned applications. • 2 equipment projects: EquipBat-CEA and EquipBat-CNRS, providing the necessary infrastructure for cutting-edge research and development in this crucial field. • 1 governance project aimed at ensuring effective coordination and transparent management of the program as a whole, thus ensuring its long-term success. The ultimate goal of PEPR-Batteries is to address fundamental scientific challenges in shaping the future of batteries, thus meeting the growing needs for energy storage in an ever-evolving world.
